Crazy for Cupcakes

This is a really fun set and I get to use my blender pens, which always makes me feel so artsy!

This is just a gift tag. I am trying to get away from my pink and red obsession... Brought in a little Brilliant Blue and Real Red. I used the fun tab punch and a little gingham ribbon. WOuldn't that be cute attached to a gift? It could be for a boy or a girl, couldn't it?

This is definatly a girl card. It also uses the blender pens on the cupcake image and the rolled image (Cupcakes). The colors on this card include Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive. It also includes the always fun and oh so messy Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I think its still in my hair and eyelashes...

Something Sweet

Still working on birthday cards... I like color combo here. Pumpkin Pie and Takin with Teal. The cute dotted paper is from the DSP Stack called Sweet Pea. Its really cute and full of some great designs. I also used the new Pinking Hearts Boarder Punch from the new mini catalog. Its so cute and tiny.

Still trying to get used to my clear mount stamps. I will say that the SU clear blocks make a HUGE difference. I was trying to use what I had at first and it was so messy. So, once I got the clear blocks, I was happier with them. They are just like the wood blocks, just acrylic. And, they stamps do stcik. They were not sticking well for me with the other blocks. But, I think I am going to be a traditionalist and stick with the wood mount. They just feel better to me...

On A Pedestal

This month's Hostess Club's Hostess has requested Birday Cards. I have been playing with all my birthday tsmps trying to find just the right cards. This set is called On A Pedestal and its really giving me a hard time!

I think this one is my favorite. Its the combo Green Galore, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. I embossed the Melon Mambo using one of SUs embossing plates and then used the new Scallop Border Punch for the Sale A Bration flyer. I really like this combo...

This cutie card is a straight lift from someone over at Splitcoast. I like it... but we just did a card in this color combo, so I am thinking its too similar. Using the same tools as above, but Real Red and Kraft in place of the other colors.
So which is your favorite? I will be posting some other cards I am thinking about using in the next couple of days.

Caution: Little Girls at work!!!

We had two birthday parties this weekend, so I pulled out my Build a Bear stamp set and let Ellie, my 7 year old, go to work. Of course, Emma, who is 2, was not about to be left out!

You can see in this picture that Emma didn't really get the idea of stamping one time to get a clear image. She POUNDED on the paper with the stamp. It took everything in me not to rip my precious SU stamps out of her hand!!!
But, she had fun and felt like she was creating, so thats all that matters, right?

Ellie on the other hand is a true artist. She took her time stamping and coloring with her new colored pencils.

I forgot to take a picture of the final cards, but you can see here how good the images look, even when little girls are making them!

Stamp Set; Beary Good Friends
Pencils: Crayola

Here is a scraplift I did a couple of weeks ago. I don't know who the orignal artist was, sorry... But, its of my sister in law. My girls adore her and she deserved a page devoted just to her!

Robin Egg Blue...

A good friend of mine just got engaged and she asked me to make come cards for her. She wanted to send a card to each of her friends asking them to be Bridesmaides. The two things she wanted were "Robin Egg Blue" and a nest. I searched the internet and really couldn't find something I was looking for. So, I just started playing and this is what I came up with .
I embossed the base using my Big Shot and an embossing plate. I used the birds nest stamp from "Nature's Nest" stamp set. The color I found came closest to her description was Temting Turquoise." I used the ink and a blender pen to color the eggs. I also used my color spritzer to add the speckles. I distressed the edges and then wrapped it with twine. I layered over a piece of Kraft paper that had been stamped with the feather from the same set. I used Close to Cocoa, but stamped off before stamping it so it would be muted.
I hope she likes it!!

Love Paper Bag Album

A friend of mine has requested a mini album for the workshop at her house in February. I have to admit I am a little intimidated because she is an art teacher and is inviting her art friends! Yikes! But, I came up with something I am proud of and think they will like!

I had to include some blender pens for them because those artsy people will know how to do all that shading that I am so not good at! I love this little truck, but never like the way I color him. Can't wait to see what they come up with!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 2009 was a great one for me and am looking forward to 2010!

I rung in the new year in my scrapbook room. It was wonderful! It was cozy and warm and I watched Julie and Julia on my new laptop. It was so good, I had a hard time focusing on my pages!

These two are from this Christmas. Like I said before, I hate scrapping Christmas in July, so I jumped ahead in the 6 inch stack of photos on my desk to do these now. It feels great to get them done!
This one is a scraplift of my online friend, and fellow demo, Shanna. I found it in my file and recognized her son, so I know its hers! If you ever need a sketch, check her blog out! I love her sketches!
This one was s lift off of two peas, but I didn't take not of who it was! Sorry!
Don't forget to let me know if your interested in the ribbon share or Valentine class!
