Easy No Sew Fabric Project

I was inspired at SU Regionals to purchase some of Stampin' Ups new fabric. There are so many possibilities for this fabric! I searched the web for some easy new sew projects and found a few things I liked. I didn't want to use this fabric for a Christmas project, but rather something everyday. The colors on the Candy Can fabric are so my girls, and I decided to make them some hair pieces.
My mom is in town this weekend, so we sat down and just started playing. The fabric comes with a great instruction packet that gives a few project ideas. This flower is super simple to make and the directions come with the fabric. I wrapped a few shreds of fabric around an old headband and hot glued the flower. So super simple!

Emma loves her new headband!

Next, I used a fat headband and covered it with the striped fabric.

We found a great tutorial HERE to make these simple twisted rosettes. Hot glue and a few buttons, and voila!

Next, this one came from a mistake. I was trying to make the flower on the first headband, but I used to much glue. So, it wouldn't fluff up. I stuck a button in the middle, added a little Victorian lace and made it a clip! Cute!

So, give it a try! Stampin' Up offers two different sets of fabrics. The one I used is called Candy Cane Christmas (#121715). If you would like to order this fabric, you can do so HERE.

Tween Scene

My oldest daughter isn't quite 8, but already, I see her making that transition from little girl to tween. She is very into the store Justice and we were looking around one day last weekend when she found this pack of chapstick she wanted. I told her it would make a great gift for one of her friends!

So, of course, I had to make it cute! I love this set called Grunge Rock ( 117080/120555.) Its perfect for the tweens! ;-)

I made this holder in the same way I did the Antibacterial Soap Holder.
The inside was fun. It had to have bling, and it had to have a crown!

There are holes punched with a 5/8" circle punch for each chapstick.

Paper and Ink: Basic Black, Temting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, Brights DSP, Wicked Fun DSP

Cookie Jar Treats

I wanted to make the girls' teachers a little treat to thank them for taking such good care of them. I found some cute ball jars at a local craft store and had to spruce them up!

I spray painted the lids and then rubbed the edges with the sanding block (103301.)

For the lid, I cut a circle of paper from the DSP set called Play Date (117168). I stamped images from a new set in the SU Holiday Mini called Day of Gratitude (121148.) Its my very favorite stamp set right now! I stamped Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie inks on the same color card stock. This sentiment is called Afterthoughts (Level 1 Hostess set from the IBC). It's punched out with my most favorite punch of ALL TIME (thats a bold statement!! LOL!) called Decortive Label Punch (120907). If you buy one thing from this mini, it should be this punch!

I also used this sentiment from Occasional Quotes (Level 3 Hostess Set in the IBC.)

The best part of these jars are the decrotive accents. They are big rub ons basically that have a chalk board finish. You can write on them with chalk and erase it when you change the contents! These are the Curly Label Chalkboard Decor Elements (118876, $595). They come 3 to a page and in three sizes. They also come off clean when you want to remove them!

The final touch is the Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgain Ribbon (115616), {Love This Ribbon!!}
The cookies are a recipe my mother always made. It's the "Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip" recipe that has always floated around. It makes a TON of cookies, but they are THE BEST!!

MRS. FIELDS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

2 c. butter
2 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
5 c. oatmeal
4 c. flour
4 eggs
2 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. baking soda
24 oz. chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) Hershey chocolate bar, grated

Mix ingredients together. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 7-12 minutes, until lightly brown. Makes 10 dozen.

A very girly SCIC!

This week's hallenge at Stampin Celebration is so girly! Who can't resist a little pink and black?? ME!!

My sentiment is on the inside! It is from the Upsy Daisy set (#111710) I embossed the front with one of Stampin' Ups Backgrounds 1 Embossing plates ( 114512) and the Big Shot (113439). I then spritzed it with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooh Spritz (#118772). This stuff is fun to use! I layered several punches,2 3/8" Scallop Circle (118874), Decrotive Label, and Modern Label (119849). ANd, of course I had to add some gorgeous Basic Black Satin Ribbon (117285) . I included a few Basic Pearls (119247.)
Now, hop on over to Stampin Celebration and join us in this Fun challenge! GO! ;-)
If you are interested in any of these products, please check out my Stampin' Up store!
