Party Time! (HSS129)

Good morning! Today is Tuesday which means another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge! This week's them is Anything But A Card: Party Favors!

As I continue to work through my notes and pictures from convention, I marked this cutie off the list! I saw these on one of the display boards and had to really study them to see how they were put together.

I realized they were the candy wrapper die! And, the opening kind of looked like a balloon opening.

So, I set out to figure it out. And, come to find out, it seems simpler to put together than the normal candy die. I always struggle with that "twist" at the end!

I made a quick video to show you. I apologize in advance, this video is in pretty raw condition. I can't find the software I use to edit videos and I have a new computer. So, I'd like to zoom it in a bit. I will continue to look for it today and hopefully can edit this video later on today!

So there you have it! We made these at my The Best of Convention class last weekend. I think everyone enjoyed them!

Stamps: You're Amazing, Blue Ribbon
Ink and Paper: Pacific Point, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, World Spectacular DSp
Other: Big Shot, Candy Wrapper Die, Pacific Point Twine, Skewer

Please hop back over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and check out what the other designers have in store for you! Hope you'll join us and link your creation as well!

Downline Make and Takes

Hey y'all ! have you joined my mailing list? Even if I've emailed you before, you need to sign up here. I'm changing over to this email service, so if you don't sign up here, you won't get my emails!
So, ----------------------------------------->
right there on the right side, please sign up!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with my downline. i wanted to chat with them about convention and upcoming events. We did a little stamping too! I had a terrible time narrowing it down to two projects for them! But, I settled on another Perfectly Preserved card. I love this set so much and I wanted them to get their hands on it and the matching Framelits as well so they could see how fun it is!

We again used a Window Sheet to create a shiny jar appearance. We also played with a new product coming out on Wednesday (in the new Seasonal Catalog) called Core'dinations Cardstock. This one is Gumball Green and we embossed it in the Big Shot and then sanded it lightly to make the lighter green show through! It has a white core, so it changes colors as you uncover layers of the paper.
 Stamps: Perfectly Preserved, Sweet Essentials
Ink and Paper: Core'dinations Cardstock Gumball Green, Orchard Harvest DSP, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Window Sheets
Other: Cannery Framelits, Big Shot, Argyle Folder, Pacific Point Twine, Naturals Designer Buttons

I used the sketch from this week's Retro Sketches for inspiration for this card.

The other card is one that I got to make at the Convention make and Take Sessions. It also features a fun set available in the Seasonal Catalog.
Stamps: Affection Collection
Ink and Paper: Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Other: Small Heat Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Stapler, Stampin' Dimensionals

Convention CASE/ Scrapbook Sunday!

When I get back from Convention, my head is swimming with ideas and to do lists. I slowly work through my notes and try to get to everything and remember each idea that was sparked. On the very first day of convention, Shelli Gardner (Co founder of SU) did a stamping demo on stage. It was so simple but super cute. I knew I wanted to recreate it.

She made this magnet board, but the part I loved the most was the embossing and punching of the flower.
Here is is afterwards on display. Beautiful isn't it?

So, for me The Best of the Best class, I decided to take the flower/bird element and turn it into a very simple scrapbook. I also changed the colors based on what I had on hand for the class and to fit a challenge

You can see it's very easy and doesn't require a bunch of "stuff" but it's beautiful! I made the matt for a 5 X 7, but you could really do any combo of pictures with this set up.

SO, the flowere is made by stamping the flower from Betsy's Blossom using Vera Mark onto Tempting Turquoise CS. Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder and hit it with the heat gun. Next, punch them out using the Blossom punch! That's the part I though was genius! The punch doesn't match the stamp! Ha! I don't think outside the box like this very often.. LOL! But, The stamp is big enough to cover the entire area of the punch. So, now I'm looking at my stamps thinking "hmmmm, what else could I use as a "background" stamp for a different punch?"
SO, next, curl up the petals using your bone folder. Stack them with Stampin Dimensionals. I layered them over a very Vanilla piece of CS that had been embossed and die cut ( Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and Label Framelit) with the Big Shot.
You can really see the shine in this picture! the button is one of the beautiful Vintage Faceted Buttons.  I also stamped the sentiments from Loving Thought. The little bird is also from Betsy's Blossoms. The DSP is from Summer Smooches. Lastly, notice I took the same blossom and stamped it all over the base Rich Razzleberry Cardstock with just the Vera Mark. Easy- Peasy!

I was inspired by the colors at The Color Throwdown for this page;
Hope you can also use Shelli's technique in your next page or card!

Scrapbook Saturday- A Perfect Day for Cousins

I've got a super busy day today. I am actually in the car right now (no, I'm not driving!) on the way home from picking my oldest up from church camp. She's already asleep in the back! LOL! Guess she had a great time!

So, I took the down time in the car to create a quick page for Scrapbook Saturday. That's the thing I love most about My Digital Studio- it's portable and easily done anywhere!
This picture was just taken a couple of days ago. I love it! Its my two youngest and my brother's little boy! We don't see them very often, but when we do, there are hugs and kisses for miles!

All of this page was done in MDS. Remember, download MDS for FREE  for 30 days! And a feature of the new MDS 2 is that you can get an instant list of everything you used to make your page! Love. This!!

Country Christmas (FMU69)

TGIF! Boo! Only a few more Friday's at home for this teacher... Sigh... Anyway, were doing a little Christmas in July this week at the Friday Mashup! It's kind of hard to get in the mood for Christmas right now, but I have some new goodies that I got to use. New goodies always make it FUN!
So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Make a project "For Christmas."
  2. Or Make a "Greeting Card & Decorate the Inside."
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Christmas Card & Decorate the Inside."

We could name this card A Country Christmas, no?? LOL! That red plaid always seems so country to me! Everything on this card is a SNEAK PEEK! All of it will be available August 1st in the Seasonal Catalog. Wait till you see this people! Yea, it's pretty much going to break my bank!

See those tiny little stamps? They have coordinating punches! Yep, I know, you want them! They are delicious! And who doesn't love a coordinating punch! I am now so spoiled that I almost don't stamp something that will need to be cut out if it doesn't have a punch! Don't lie, I know you think the same thing too when your stamping!!! ;-)

And this ripped up ribbon is the new 7/8" Cotton ribbon. You know I can't leave well enough alone. I have to rip it all up! It's actually stampable as well! There are stamps in the new Seasonal Catalog that are for stamping this ribbon! Genius!

Stamps: Merry Minis, Sweet Essentials
Paper and Ink: Festival of Prints DSP Stack (Yes, I said STACK!! It's awesome!), Soft Suede, more Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Very Vanilla
Other: Postage Stamp Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Merry Minis Punch Pack, 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, Naturals Designer Buttons, Early Espresso Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

All of these things can be purchased HERE. (Seasonal Items will be available on Wednesday!)

Now, are you in the mood for Christmas? just think, if you made 1 card a week from now till Christmas, you would have all your cards done! Do it!! And, if you need more ideas, hop back over to The Friday Mash Up and check out what the other ladies have come up with! Don't forget to link back up with us!

Hybrid, Mixed Media, Schmorgesborg? (New Video!)

I have NO idea how to spell that word! Is that a real word!? Schmorgesborg.. I just like saying it!
Today, I'm going to show you a card I made, last minute, for convention swaps. I showed you last week the journaling tags I made for our Scrapbook Page and Scrap club

I took what I had left over and made these Thank You cards!
I love My Digital Studio. I mean, I truly LOVE it. But.. it's like comparing apples and oranges for me when you talk about scrapbooking. Scrapbooking, as I've known it for 15 years, is hands on, messy, texture rich crafting.  MDS is rich, beautiful, technology. It's two different things. It's two different feels. I love them both for two totally different reasons. So, I've been trying desperately to join the two and make beautiful hybrid things. I want to marry them into a craft that doesn't require me to loose what I love from each one.  I think I finally succeeded with this project!

The tag was printed through SU. I cut them apart and stamped the "you" ll down it with Staz On. It made the base of my card QUICK. That's a plus when your making a bunch of them! Then I pulled out the real ink and paper and did the flower and butterfly. See today's video for all the details!

Please remember that I am a video newbie, and I know I have much to learn. The audio isn't great. I know how I need to improve that...

I hope you enjoy today's video and card!

Join the Club!

I've had a few inquiries about Virtual Stamp Clubs. I've thought alot about it and decided to give them a try!

What is a Stamp Club?
A group of people who commit to making a minimum  Stampin' Up purchase for a certain length. Each person gets one month out of the time frame to earn the hostess benefits from the catalog. The Demo (me) provides a few make and take projects each month for everyone to enjoy.

What makes it "virtual?"
Everyone in the virtual club will be long distance. This means that I will mail your projects with any needed instructions to assemble them, with your purchased items. This also means, on top of the amount you pay for your order, I will add on a shipping charge to mail it all out to you.

So, what are the details?
1. 6 month commitment, your order is due to me by the 10th of each month.

2. $25 minimum monthly commitment (pre tax/shipping)+ shipping cost from my house with your projects. I will start at $7 and see if we can go down/need to go up.

3. I will send you a free catalog as well as any current special catalogs.

4. Credit card on file with me to take care of each month's order

5. I will provide supplies and instructions each month for 1 card, 1 3D and 1 other optional item (may be another card, may be a scrapbook page, may be a candy item, etc.)

6. I will assign "hostess months" and on your month, you get to spend the hostess benefits! If you bring outside orders from local friends, your benefits will be bumped up!

When will it start?
As soon as I have 6 commitments! I'd like to start in August!

How do I sign up?
Email me and let me know your ready to join! I will send you your catalogs as soon as I get your commitment!

FAQ
How long will it take to get my order?
I place the orders before or on the 11th. It takes about a week to get to me. I will repack them with your project supplies and  send them to you the next day!

Can I use the Stamper's Round Up Card?
Yep! On pre tax and shipping totals.
For every $30 you spend, you get one punch. When you reach 10 punches, I give you $30 to spend!

Can I join and have the products shipped directly to me from SU?
Well, in order for it to make a "party" total and for someone to get hostess benefits, each order has to be placed together as a group by me. If your interested in committing to 6 months with out getting the Hostess Benefits, I will commit to sending you the projects each month for free. Just know that this excludes you from Hostess Benefits. But you can still earn punches on your Round Up Card.

I'm local, do I still have to pay the extra shipping fee?
Nope! I am happy to hook up with you each month to give you your goodies!

Let me know if you have any other questions!
Email me soon, this club will fill up FAST!

PCH Inspired- HSS 128

Good morning! I've got a busy day of cleaning, laundry and getting my oldest ready for her first sleepover camp! She's nervous, and so am I! Hopefully, once she gets there, it will all be good! Eek!

Today's Hand Stamped Sentiment's Challenge is a really neat one! Pacific Coast Highway!

I knew immediately I wanted to use this stamp from Road to Happiness!
I created the sand by using the Color Spritzer, Sift Suede ink and Crumb Cake Card Stock. The ocean layers are just torn cardstock! And those cute puffy clouds are from the cupcake punch!

Stamps: Road to Happiness
Ink and Paper: Crumbcake, Whisper White, Pool Party, Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Stampin' Write Markers, More Mustard
Other: Twine, Cupcake Punch, Color Spritzer

Make sure you jump over to HSS and see what the other designers have done as well!

On a side note, the HSS design team got together for convention. We hooked up several times! this was one morning at the General Session! Love these girls! We had a BLAST!

HSS Swap Card

I'm home from SLC and trying to readjust to normal life. Convention is such an exciting event, that returning to normal life is hard! I was so excited to see my kids yesterday! They were happy to see me, but then quickly ran off to do their own thing. It's a strange feeling coming back to normal life after such an amazing and eventful week!

This card was created for the swap i did with the Hand Stamped Sentiment's Design Team.

Stamps: Perfectly Preserved, Fabulous Phrases, Friendship Preserves
Paper: Orchard Harvest DSP, Raspberry Ripple CS
Ribbon: 7/8” Cotton
I took almost 500 pictures while at convention, so it's hard for me to narrow it down for the blog! Today, I chose to show you the products displays. These were created by the amazing concept artist at Stampin Up!

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a to do list a MILE long, so I guess I better get to it!
